Reviews
A lovely and quaint Japanese-run bakery that serves up amazing bread and pastries, with hot and cold drinks. We enjoyed the latte and cream cheese with strawberry jam croissant for our afternoon break. The bakery also has a section selling Japanese-made accessories and pottery that are cute and interesting.
While walking in Robertson quey spotted this cute looking bakery.
It’s a Japanese bakery which sells fresh breads and pastries.
You can also seat and neat.
I bought sour dough bread, garlic bread, chocolate croissant and all were so fresh and nice.
If you are around that area please make a visit.
It’s affordable also.
Happy and friendly staff
Authentic Japanese bakery serving shokupan as well as other breads and pastries. Limited seating but most people take away and it's clearly popular with people living nearby.
Prawn cold sandwich ($10.50) - Good.
From earlier visits:
Prawn salad shokupan sandwich ($10.50) - Crunchy prawns in cocktail sauce with egg mayo and lettuce. Excellent bread.
Egg salad sandwich ($9) - great.
Chocolate croissant ($4.30) - good.
Butter cinnamon sugar toast - good.
The bakery faces Md Sultan Rd. More for takeaway though there are a few seats for dining in.
The breads are undoubtedly awesome. I choose the bread platter which is the chef’s recommended breads. I managed to try many varieties of bread they offer. It is served with maple honey syrup, butter, brie, prosciutto ham and guacamole. Everything is just complimenting each other.
On the other hand, the egg sandwich is a definite winner. The bread is super soft and moist filled with the delectable filling which is well-seasoned and super tasty. With no exaggeration, every bite transported me back a memory of Japan. I will definitely come back.
bought the white bread with black grain. the bread was flavourful with hints of nuttiness and richness from rice and quinoa. the gluten in the bread was so well developed and very qq!! loved the crust as well. will be back to try the signature shokupan and matcha azuki shokupan!!
2nd trip: finally tried the matcha azuki shokupan as well as the cranberry and raisin sourdough with pumpkin seeds. matcha aroma present but could have more matcha taste. texture of the bread was unsurprisingly excellent and qq!! sourdough bread itself was slightly tangy and had a nice crumb but because the amount of seeds was rather generous, it was a tad tough. flavour was really good though!
Nice little shop that survived
Nice bread … loved their shokupan though it’s always a luxury when we buy them
Bakes and sandwiches are AMAZING! Coffee isn't. Some nice Japanese made products for sale too, for not too crazy prices
